Mangiafouco newly insulated
The Mangiafuoco from Fontana Forni is an absolutely classic Italian dome stove with wood firing. It reaches up to 450 degrees and keeps this temperature for a long time thanks to its elaborate and high-quality insulation. This makes it a true all-rounder: the Mangiafouco bakes antipasti, casseroles, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables and even bread reliably.
The current model has now been revised to store heat even more reliably. The bottom construction has been completely revised by Fontana. A further insulation layer in the form of a vermiculite plate has now been inserted under the fireclay plates. This lies inside the stove directly under the fireclay brick and above a thin layer of air. The aim is to increase the temperature resistance of the stove. The advantages are obvious. The additional insulation plate keeps the heat longer, so it is possible to cook and bake for a longer period of time. At the same time, wood is saved because less reheating is needed. All in all, this innovation improves the cooking experience and the energy balance of the oven. The Mangiafouco has two siblings from the same series, which differ in size.
